There are big expectations from educated and uneducated, young and old people in India that corruption will be wipe out from Indian soil and all black money deposited by Political and other gundas will be taken back - after the populous Ramlila Ground stunt of Anna Hazare.
I appreciate the good wish of the people. Such expectations are normal when people are pissed-off seeing and experiencing corruption everywhere.
But personally I feel that the drama at Ramlila ground can do nothing to the current corrupt political and social system of India and it could be counted nothing more than a stunt and drama.
I noticed in our college, students who regularly cut classes were the ones who were running up and down to stag one day fasting in honour of Anna Hazare’s drama. What a patriotism???
When I commented in a classroom, how Anna Hazare’s movement can jeopardise democratic system in our country, students were not happy to listen or understand.
I saw today’s Hindu Newspaper some valuable thoughts from our former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor -
"We cannot have a small group of unelected people imposing their will on Parliament because in the long term the danger will be to you the people.... “ .
"Saying that I will starve to death thereby potentially unleashing disruption violence and anarchy in the country unless you pass a bill which says exactly what I see it should say. Is that democracy? That is the question we have to ask".
