Locked up in the lockdown

COVID-19

Quarantine Fatigue For the Rich

Economic Burden for the Poor

COVID-19 distorted the face of the earth, not only economically but also physically due to less pollution, emotionally, psychologically, religiously… (can add any number of adjectives and adverbs). Human life has changed a lot. As the pandemic threatens and lingers, society advances with no sign of recovery. Although some relaxation in the movements is permitted here and there, signs of quarantine exhaustion emerge from every direction. A locked up in the lockdown.
As the months stack up, the younger generation with little responsibility is carousing with mobile phone and social media; very comfortable.
Few in the government sector have once in a lifetime bonanza. What a wonderful experience of doing nothing and getting the monthly salary, which many dreamed for years and will never see in normal circumstances.
Nevertheless, it is a different ballgame for many. Imagine the daily wage workers who became jobless instantly, private sector employees who do not get salaries, small scale businesses that are partially or fully disrupted. Imagine the economic liabilities of a person or the number of dependent persons behind every salary. Each person has an individualised problem and each sector has its own unique problems.
Is there any reason to worry about quarantine fatigue? is it the major concern of the people in India?. Is quarantine fatigue right topic to talk now?
What is quarantine fatigue? It is a mental status that arises from lack of regular physical activity, from a precarious situation that does not permit routine tasks, lack of social interaction (except through social media), uncertainty about the course of action, all put together. In such a case, quarantine fatigue is not the major issue for the Indian masses. Probably for the rich, or a problem in the Western society where the government takes care all your needs in times of trial, under the cover of social security, and that is why you pay tax to the government.

Look further into the problem of  COVID-19, is it  quarantine fatigue that people suffer in this quarantine time, especially in India? The fear of getting the virus, thinking of a loved one in a faraway place, no job, no salary, economic burden and hardship, do the problems have anything to do quarantine fatigue? The problems are distinctively different.
The problems are lockdown is a complex one to define. Apparently, the origin of the problem is COVID-19, but the nature of the problem is more individualised and multi-faceted. The source of the problem is beyond our capacity to solve, but the complex consequences that produce unimaginable  problems (not quarantine fatigue) are human-made, that has a solution. In good governance, it should be quarantine fatigue alone.
